Essex Woodlands Leads Investment In DNA Identification Tech

Venture capital firm Essex Woodlands, which has offices in Houston, is the lead investor in a developer of DNA identification technology. Silicon Valley-based IntegenX said that Essex Woodlands led a $40M, Series C funding for the firm today, which also included Domain Associates, QuestMark Partners, Greenspring Associates, Cross Creek Capital, RONAholdings LLC, Samsung Ventures, and In-Q-Tel. IntegenX develops systems which can provide a DNA identification and profile in less than 90 minutes, enough to be used in military and law enforcement purposes.
