GameStop Leads Investment In PlayJam

Grapevine, Texas-based videogame retailer GameStop is the lead investor in a maker of online, TV games, PlayJam. PlayJam said this week that it has raised $5M in a Series A funding, which came from GameStop Digital Ventures, Adobe Ventures, Endeavor Ventures, London Venture Partners, and others. PlayJam is based in London, UK. PlayJam's games work with remote controls, and are distributed via Samsung, LG, Panasonic, and Sony "connected TVs". GameStop said it is interested in "next generation platforms" for the delivery of premium games, and will help it understand the potential of the connected TV sector. More information »
