HP Gets Antitrust Approval On EDS Acquisition

HP's acquisition of Plano, Texas-based IT consulting provider EDS has received approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, HP disclosed this morning. HP said that the waiting period under the antitrust act has expired, although it is still subject to EDS stockholder approval and clearance from European Commission and non-U.S. jurisdictions. HP made a $13.9B offer for EDS in May.
