Online dating service Match.com LLC announced today that it has launched a new dating Web site: DownToEarth.com. According to the Dallas-based company, the new site will be free to use and will feature a novel ratings system that utilizes user feedback to self police member profiles. Match said DownToEarth's RealRatings feature will enable daters to rate the accuracy of the other's profile information after meeting. As general manager, Jacob Solotaroff will supervise the new site, Match said, adding that he previously served as director of Match.com's member integrity. Match.com is a subsidiary of U.S. media conglomerate InterActiveCorp.
