Austin-based Pivot3, which develop unified storage and computing appliances, said this morning that it has named Alan Higginson to its board. Higginson is Chairman of Hubspan and F5 Networks, and previously also has served at Sierra On-Line. Pivot3 is venture backed by Northleaf Capital Partners Ltd, Focus Ventures, InterWest Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mesirow Financial Capital Partners IX, and Silver Creek Ventures. The firm is headed by Rich Bravman, who was appointed CEO in November.
