Borland Hires Field Operations VP

Borland Software Corp., a publisher of application lifecycle management software, reported Thursday that it has hired Rich Novak to replace Dave Packer as senior vice president of worldwide field operations, effective immediately. The Austin, Texas-based company described Novak as an industry veteran who will focus on developing its sales organization in a bid to grow revenue and gain market share. News of Novak's hiring coincided with Borland's Q2 2008 financial report, in which the company claimed total revenues of $41.9 million and a net loss (GAAP) of $5.6 million.
