NSF Awards TACC $59M For Supercomputing
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a five year, $59M award to the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin, the school said Thursday, for a new, high performance computing system. The grant will go towards a high performance computing (HPC) system based on Sun Microsystems servers, and is expected to be the most powerful general purpose computing service on the NSF's TeraGrid computing network.
