HomeAway Acquires French Vacation Rental Web Site

Austin, Texas-based HomeAway said this moring that it has acquired Abritel.fr SA, which operates a vacation rental web site in France. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, the deal follows $160M in financing by Homeaway for the acquisition of VRBO.com and other global expansion. According to HomeAway, Abritel.fr will continue to operate as an independent brand. Abritel employs 22 in Marseilles, France. HomeAway is venture-backed by Austin Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, American Capital, Institutional Venture Partners and Trident Capital.
