Houston Business Plan Competition To Award Nearly $350,000 in prizes
On March 24, nearly $350,000 in cash and prizes will find their way to winners of the 2007 Rice Business Plan Competition, the world's largest and most lucrative intercollegiate contest of its kind, according to the Rice Alliance for Technology & Entrepreneurship, an initiative run by Rice University to promote technology entrepreneurship. The competition will take place March 22-24 in Houston at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Management. According to the group, 36 fledgling companies will present their business plans and elevator pitches in various categories, including life sciences, sustainability, energy technology and information technology. Winners will be revealed at an awards banquet on March 24 at the Hilton Americas Hotel.
