Dell Adds Red Hat To PowerEdge Line
Round Rock, Texas-based computer manufacturer Dell Inc. revealed Tuesday that it is now offering Red Hat's Linux-based operating system and middleware applications. Dell said the option of installing open-source, standards-based software on its PowerEdge servers grants customers a simple, cost-effective means of migrating from expensive legacy application infrastructures. The company explained that customers can choose between three packages that combine Red Hat and JBoss middleware applications with their choice of operating systems and Dell hardware.
