Dell, Ask.com Form "Green" Collaboration
Computer manufacturer and direct retailer Dell Inc. announced Thursday that it and online search engine Ask.com are collaborating on two environmentally conscious efforts. According to Dell, Ask.com will purchase several custom, energy-efficient servers that reportedly consume less power than standard versions for its operations. Additionally, Dell said Ask.com is its first corporate customer to participate in Dell's "Plant a Tree for Me" program, a tree-planting initiative designed to offset carbon emissions associated with the electricity generated to power computer equipment.
