ACS Signs Malta As Customer

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. reported Wednesday that it has received a seven-year contract worth $21 million from the government of Malta to improve the delivery and data accuracy of that country’s healthcare system. ACS, a Fortune 500 company that provides business-process outsourcing and information technology consulting, said the agreement represents the first phase of the Maltese government's Integrated Health Information System, which aims to improve the management of healthcare records and to integrate state-of-the-art digital medical equipment into the nation's largest healthcare facility, the 850-bed Mater Dei Hospital.
