Dell Reports Higher Profits
Round Rock, Texas-based Dell reported its preliminary results Thursday, saying that the firm had revenues of $14.8B in the second quarter of the year. The company said it had operating income of $895M, with its operating profit impacted by higher expenses from compensation expense and the firm's investigation into its accounting and financial reporting issues. The firm said that profits jumped by 46% on strong server and storage sales. The results are preliminary, as the firm is delinquent in its filings with the SEC, due to its ongoing accounting investigation.
