The Planet Appoints VP
Corporate Internet service and hosting provider The Planet reported Tuesday that it has hired Stan O. Barber as vice president of network operations. The Planet said Barber will supervise the Houston-based company's Global Network Operations Center and will report to Douglas J. Erwin, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer. The Planet added that Barber will also manage its abuse department, which enforces the company's acceptable use policies. The Planet noted that Barber hails from Nippon Telephone & Telegraph America, where he spent the past two years as vice president of engineering operations. He also held various IT management positions at Verio and at the Baylor College of Medicine, The Planet said.
