INX Wins $4.3M Contract to Install Optical Network
Houston-based network infrastructure developer INX Inc. reported Wednesday that it has landed a $4.3 million contract to design and deploy a comprehensive optical network for an undisclosed U.S. city. INX said the contract comprises some $3.8 million in product revenue and another $500,000 in services fees. Describing its mystery client as a "major U.S. metropolitan area," INX said the citywide optical network will comprise Cisco Systems hardware and will provide transport services to more than 200 locations throughout the city. The network will also provide network redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities to key city offices for voice, video and data applications.
