Nascentric Announces New Simulation Tool

Austin, Texas-based Nascentric has released a new, semiconductor design tool, the firm said today. Nascentric said that its newest simulator, OmegaSim, is now available. The software provides Fast-SPICE simulation, a computer simulation technique used by semiconductor firms to verify their mixed analog and digital circuit designs. According to Nascentric, the new tool has the advantage over competing tools in terms of speed and ability to handle analog, mixed-signal designs. SPICE simulation is used by circuit designers to understand the electromagnetic effects of transistor placement and design; Fast-SPICE tools are optimized for large scale simulation of circuits. Nascentric is venture backed by Intel, Austin Ventures, Silverton Partners, and Needham Capital.
