Dell Dumps Kiosks
Round Rock-based Dell said today that it will close all 140 of the firm's kiosks in the United States. The kiosks featured the firm's Dell products, and are in addition to the firm's retail and direct presence. Dell's kiosks were featured in malls and other retail locations, and featured Dell hardware and representatives where shoppers could check out computers and TVs. Dell had launched its kiosk program seven years ago, before it began to bolster its retail presence. Financial impact of the closures were not disclosed. Dell also said that kiosks outside the U.S. were not affected by the move.
