DealTaker.com Acquired By Media General

Plano, Texas-based DealTaker.com, an online bargain hunting web site, has been acquired by Richmond, Virginia-based Media General. Media General did not disclose financial terms of the deal. DealTaker.com, which was founded in 2004, allows web users to share coupons, bargains, and other shopping deals. According to Media General, the deal is expected to be slightly accretive to its 2008 earnings; the firm said DealTaker.com has more than 100,000 registered members, and more than 400,000 unique visitors/month.
