Pivot3 Gets Win At Casino
Pivot3 Inc., a provider of high-definition, RAID-based storage systems, announced Tuesday that a California casino has selected its clustered storage array for a cutting-edge megapixel surveillance project. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Pivot3 said it has deployed almost 500 terabytes of storage capacity on behalf of the Chumash Casino Resort, which is located in Santa Ynez, Calif. The nearly half a petabyte of storage was needed, Pivot3 explained, to support the many megapixel cameras strategically installed throughout the casino. Headquartered in Spring, Texas, Pivot3 is a privately held company backed by Lightspeed Ventures Partners, InterWest Partners, Mesirow Financial Capital Partners IX and Silver Creek Ventures.
