Sirific Wireless Acquired By Icera
Richardson, Texas-based Sirific Wireless has been acquired by wireless chipset firm Icera, Icera said today. United Kingdom-based Icera did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition. Sirific Wireless was a develoepr of advanced CMOS RF transceivers for the communications market. Icera said that the merger would strengthen the company's posotion in the mobile broadband market. Both of Sirific's design locations, in Richardson and in Waterloo, Canada, will be retained by Icera. Sirific had raised more than $54.8M in venture funding from Agilent Technologies, BDC Venture Capital, Celerity Partners, Celtic House Venture Partners, GrowthWorks, Hunt Ventures, Intel Capital, SoloWave Investments, TD Capital Technology Ventures, Tech Capital Partners, Waterloo Ventures, and Working Ventures Canadian Fund.
