SAVVIS Adds Second Dallas-Area Data Center
St. Louis-based IT services provider SAVVIS Inc. announced Tuesday that it has established a second data center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The company added that it has already secured a client for the new facility—per a three-year agreement, SAVVIS said it will provide Utah-based business optimization software publisher Omniture Inc. with data center hosting and network services from the new Irving location. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. SAVVIS said the new data center, which sits adjacent to the other one, features some 37,000 square-feet of raised floor space and includes provisions to add 45,000 square-feet more. SAVVIS added that the facility provides conditioned power from a five-bus electrical system at a rate of 170 watts per square-foot.
