Mavenir Teams On Wireless Product
Richardson, Texas-based Mavenir Systems has teamed with a Massachusetts software radio firm, Vanu Inc., on a new wireless product, the firms said today. According to the companies, they have created a product which supports using Class 5 VoIP switches from Mavenir with wireless basestations from Vanu supporting GSM and CDMA handsets. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. The deal pulls together Mavenir's mOne Convergence gateway, which is used for wireline voice-over-IP switching, with software-based access to wireless networks from Vanu. Vanu's base stations are used to connect CDMA and GSM phones to telecommunications networks.
