EDS Lands Contract with CAT Group

Information technology outsourcing firm EDS revealed Monday that it has received a seven-year contract from the CAT Group to develop, deploy and support that company's software applications. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. The CAT Group is an automotive logistics and transport provider that employs more than 2,800 people worldwide. EDS said the new deal augments an existing IT infrastructure contract that it won in 2005. Under that agreement, EDS noted, it will manage the group's entire IT infrastructure, which includes 2,000 work stations at 131 sites in 19 countries, through 2015. EDS is headquartered in Plano, Texas.
