RenewData Partners On E-Discovery Efforts

Austin-based RenewData, which provides software for e-discovery and risk management, said Thursday that it has partnered with Forensic Consulting Solutions (FCS). According to RenewData, the two will partner to offer E-Discovery and backup tape liability management services to the legal and corporate community. Specifically, the firms said that FCS will provide proactive litigation readiness services, which evaluate a company's backup tapes, which are often the target of lawsuits, using RenewData software. The firms said that RenewData's tools will be used to identify retention obligations on historical media--essentially, identifying data on backup tapes which should be erased as they might provide fodder for future lawsuits.
