ACS Gets $44M Florida Contract

Business process outsourcing firm Affiliated Computer Services Inc. reported Monday that it has received a five-year, $44 million service contract from the state of Florida. The Dallas-based company said it will administer a third-party liability program on behalf of the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration's Florida Medicaid system. Under the contract, ACS said, it will employ business process and Web-based technologies to locate third-party recovery sources such as commercial health insurance plans, Medicare and casualty, estate, trust and annuity plans. The third-party research, ACS explained, will help Florida's Medicaid programs reduce costs by identifying alternative money streams prior to claims payment.
