Stratus Telecommunications Acquires Telecom Business

Allen, Texas-based Stratus Telecommunications announced Wednesday afternoon that it has acquired the ENTICE telecommunications business owned by Stratus Technologies, Inc. of Massachusetts. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Stratus Telecommunications said the purchase closed on January 2nd. Stratus Telecommunications provides SIP and SS7 products for the telecommunications industry. According to Stratus Telecommunications, the ENTICE products were acquired by Stratus Technologies in August of 2006, when it purchased Emergent Network Solutions. Massachusetts-based Stratus Technologies is a developer of high availability, fault tolerant computing products. The similarly named Stratus Telecommunications provides VoIP and other telecommunications services and equipment.
