SailPoint Adds Virtual Appliance, Hosting
Austin-based SailPoint, a developer of identity management software for IT compliance and risk management, said this morning that the firm has added a new "virtual appliance" option and hosting options to deploy its software. According to SailPoint, its IdentityIQ software can now be deployed either through a hosted service, or through a virtual environment image. Virtual appliances are pre-configured, ready-to-run operating system images that run on virtual environments like VMware and Zen, which simplify the deployment of enterprise software. The firm said that it will also offer deployment at its own hosting facility, and also provide managed serviecs to users. Pricing of the new offerings was not disclosed. SailPoint is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Origin Partners and Silverton Partners.
