The Planet Names VP

Houston-based IT infrastructure hosting firm The Planet reported today that it has hired Duke S. Skarda as vice president of information technology and software development. The Planet said Skarda will report to Douglas J. Erwin, the company's chairman and chief executive, and will oversee its complete lineup of IT services, including core IT operations and software development. Skarda will also be the senior-most executive at the company's offices in Dallas, The Planet noted. He joins the firm after 10 years with Level 3 Communications, where he most recently served as senior vice president of its Content Markets Group, The Planet added.
