Zix Looks To Sell e-Prescribing Business

Dallas-based Zix, which operates both an email encryption and e-prescribing service, said Thursday that it has hired investment banking firm Allen & Company LLC, to investigate "strategic alternaties for maximixing value" of its e-Prescribing business. The firm did not say why it decided to hire the bank, but said it may look for a partnership, joint venture, or sale of some or all of the firm's e-Prescribing assets. The firm's e-Prescribing business provides solutions to help doctors, pharmacies, and payors automate their prescription process.
