CyrusOne Opens Another Houston Location

Houston-based CyrusOne, an operator of colocation services and data center services, said Tuesday that the firm is opening a third facility in West Houston. According to the firm, it plans to build and operate a 94,000 square foot facility, with possibility of expanding that data center by another 100,000 square feet. The new facility brings the company's total colocation facilities to 480,000 square feet throughout Texas. Three of the firm's centers are in Houston, three in Dallas, and one in Austin. CyrusOne credited the economic downturn with spurring the firm to acquire more space, saying that companies have been turning to the firm because their lack of capital to support their own data center construction projects.
