ShopSavvy Loses Access To Amazon Data
Dallas-based Big In Japan, the developer behind the mobile comparison shopping application ShopSavvy, has lost access to product information from Amazon.com, according to Big In Japan's Alexander Muse. According to Muse, explaining the issue in a blog post, only a small percentage of Amazon's products now display in ShopSavvy results, as a result of a move by Amazon to prevent mobile applications from accessing its product data. ShopSavvy, which runs on Google Android phones and the Apple iPhone, allows users to scan a barcode using their mobile phone camera, and pull up price comparisons.
