PlastiPure Gets $1.1M Grant

Austin-based PlastiPure reported Tuesday that the firm has received a $1.1M grant, from the National Institute of Environmental Health and Safety (NIEHS), to develop plastics which do not leach chemicals. According to the firm, the federal funding will go to expands its materials and products, which are designed to not leach chemicals with harmful estrogenic activity. PlastiPure claims its products are "vastly superior" to current products which use BPA-free plastic, glass, or metal.
