Prodea Systems Ups Funding To $31.7M
Plano-based Prodea Systems, a developer of digital home systems for telecom carriers founded by the Ansari family, has raised its funding to $31.7M, according to a recent regulatory filing by the firm. Prodea is headed by Anousheh Ansari, who, along with her family, funded the Ansari X Prize, the competition which resulted in the first commercial spacecraft to reach space. Ansari is one of the few private citizens to reach orbit, having flown on a Russian Soyuz flight to the International Space Station. The new investment in Prodea is up from $29.5M the firm has raised as of August.
