SolarWinds Buys Tek-Tools

Austin-based SolarWinds, a developer of network management tools, announced this morning that it is buying Dallas-based network management software firm Tek-Tools, in a deal worth up to $42M in cash and stock. According to SolarWinds, it acquired certain assets of Tek-Tools, which has offices in both Dallas and Chennai, India, to bolster its Orion product porfolio. SolarWinds said it would continue to offer Tek-Tools' Profiler Suite. Tek-Tools develops software used to manage storage and server virtualization.
