Rackspace Targets Music Industry

Austin-based Rackspace Hosting said Monday evening that it is launching a new, web infrastructure offering targeted specifically at the music industry. According to the firm, the new Rackspace Media Services product will provide open source, direct-to-consumer web infrastructure for music recording labels and others. The firm said it will provide e-commerce, user generated content, social media, and custom applications for the industry through the new services arm, with implementation and strategy teams, real-time monitoring and consulting, as well as release engineering and testing. Pricing on the new offerings was not disclosed.
