Data Foundry Plans New Austin Data Center
Austin-based Data Foundry, which operates colocation and data center services, said Wednesday that it has plans for a new, 250,000 square foot data center in Austin. Data Foundry said it will begin construction of the $150M data center in July, with completion expected in Q2 of 2011. The firm said the new data center comes as a result of increased customer demand for its services, with Austin a "sought-after" location due to a low incidence of natural disasters and reliable power. The firm said the center is being designed by architecture firm Gensler, engineering services by CCG Facilities Integration, and construction by HOlder Construction Company.
