The Planet Gets Certification

Houston-based IT hosting firm The Planet reports today that the firm has completed the US-EU Safe Harbor self-certification process. According to the firm, the certification covers business guidelines for protecting personal data from Europe. The self-certification process comes from the U.S. Department of Commerce, and is modeled after the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection. The company said the certification provides additional assurances to its customers that their data is safe with The Planet.
