Active Power Gets New Order

Austin-based Active Power, a manufacturer of flywheel-based backup power systems, reports today that it has received a "multimillion dollar" order for an 11 megawatt CleanSource UPS. Name of the customer--which Active Power described as "one of the world's largest Internet search engine providers"--was not disclosed. The firm said the order will ship in late 2010, with final ship and install in early 2011. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Active Power said the order is the fourth from the Internet search engine.
