Riptano Gets $2.7M
Austin-based Riptano, a developer of open source, transaction database software, has raised $2.7M in a funding round, according to the firm's investors. The round came from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, Rackspace Hosting, and angel investor Jason Calacanis. Apache Cassandra was originally developed at Facebook, and was released to open source in 2008. Riptano is headed by Matt Pfeil. More information »
