Layered Technologies Buys GSI Hosting

Plano-based Layered Technologies, whcih provides IT infrastructure and hosting services, said Thursday that it has acquired GSI Hosting, a hosting provider based in Kansas City, Mo. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Layered Technologies said the acquisition includes a new, 77,000-square-foot data center wholly owned by GSI in Kansas City. GSI was founded in 1996 by Robin Greenhagen, who becomes Chief Technology Officer at Layered Tech. The firm said the expansion comes thanks to growth equity received by Layered Technologies earlier this year from private equity firm Accel-KKR.
