Disney Interactive Cuts Jobs In Austin

Disney Interactive is cutting jobs, in a move that impacts Austin-based Junction Point Studios, according to reports Tuesday. According to entertainment publication Variety, around 200 employees were affected by the move across the company; it's unclear how many of those were in Austin. Junction Point developed the "Disney Epic Mickey" game for Nintendo Wii. Disney Interactive said the move was part of the beginning of a "restructuring process" for the firm. Disney acquired Junction Point in July of 2007.
