TXU Energy Launches iPhone App

Customers of electric utility TXU Energy have a new way to check on their electricity bills today, after the utility said it has released its first iPhone application. The app--which is available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch--allows users to view and pay bills. TXU already had offered up a mobile version of its web site. The new app is free. TXU has been fairly aggressive in its adoption of mobile technology--in addition to the app and mobile web sites, the firm also had launched a web-connected thermostat and related service last year.
