BlackLocus Raises $2.5M
Austin- and Pittsburgh-based BlackLocus, a developer of cloud-based, pricing optimization and revenue management software, is announcing today that it has raised $2.5M in its Series A funding round. The firm said the round was led by DFJ Mercury and Silverton Partners, and also included Innovation Works. Black Locus was founded by Rodrigo Carvalho, Lukas Bouvrie and Francisco Uribe, from their computer science graduate work at Carnegie Mellon University. The firm was the winner of the DFJ Mercury Prize at the 2011 Rice University Business Plan Competition. Blair Garrou of DFJ Mercury and Morgan Flager of Silverton partners were involved in the funding round.
