Ziften Raises $5.8M

Austin-based Ziften Technologies said over the weekend that it has raised $5.8M in a Series A funding. The round came from Fayez Sarofim & Co. and Trellis Partners. Sarofim and John Long of Trellis Partners have joined the company's board along with the funding. Ziften is focused on the enterprise computing market, and is looking to help improve IT desktop management. Ziften is headed by Mark Obrecht, who prevoiusly founded WholeSecurity, a company acquired by Symantec in 2005. More information »
