Youtoo Launches Crowdsourced Reality TV Effort
Las Colinas, Texas-based Youtoo, the developer of mobile apps for allowing users to submit their own videos to reality TV, said yesterday that it has teamed with firm VIMBY (Video in My Backyard) to allow viewers with mobile devices to participate in television programming. Youtoo, started by Chris Wyatt, who also started Godtube.com, said it has inked a deal with VIMBY and reality TV producer Mark Burnett, where VIMBY will produce 250 short programs with celebrities that also incorporate videos submitted via Youtoo. Financial details of that deal were not disclosed.
