Snoball Jumps Into Army-Navy Rivalry With Challenge
Austin-based Snoball, the newly launched startup looking to spur people to give to charities and nonprofits via challenges, said today that it is jumping into the Army-Navy rivalry for the upcoming Saturday game, to inspire people to make donations to Operation Gratitude and Marine Toys for Tots. Snoball is using its system to challenge people to give money when certain events happen as part of the Army-Navy game; for example, giving $1 to Toys For Tots if Navy beats Army, or if those teams meet specific stats. The promotion is the first big push by the company to have people use its service, which is geared around challenges to spur benefits to charities, and harnessing social media to encourage others to help support causes. Snoball launched on November 29th. The company is headed by John Ludlow.
