Central Texas Angel Network Among Most Active Angels, Says Report
A report released Thursday has identified Austin-based Central Texas Angel Network as one of the most active, angel investment groups in the country. According to the new HALO Report, released today by Silicon Valley Bank, the Angel Resource Institute, based on data by CBInsights, said that The Central Texas Angel Network (Austin), Tech Coast Angels (Southern California), Band of Angels (Menlo Park), Golden Seeds (New York), and Launchpad Venture Group (Boston) as the most active groups in terms of number of deals in 2011. The report did not say how many deals the various groups counted during the year. The report analyzes early and seed stage activities by angel investment groups. The report did not break out Texas deals, but said the overall Southwest region (Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas) represented 8.9 percent of the angel deals during 2011.
