TRACLabs Advances In DARPA Robotics Challenge
Houston-based robotics and automation provider TRACLabsDARPA Robotics Challenge, the robotics development competition being run by the defense organization. TRACLabs said it has received funding and use of a $2M, humanoid robot as part of the competition. DARPA's latest robotics challenge asks teams to develop and control remote, humanoid robots to respond to disasters. DARPA's last challenge, the DARPA Grand Challenge, was focused on creating autonoous, driverless vehicles. TRACLabs is one of eighteen teams currently working on the DARPA effort. The current stage focuses on creating control software in a simulated environment.
