Bigcommerce Powers Payment Processor Heartland

Austin-based Bigcommerce is powering a new e-commerce effort from payment processing firm Heartland Payment Systems, the two said this morning. According to the companies, Heartland is launching a new Online Storefront platform, an integrated e-commerce platform that helps merchants to launch their own online stores. The platform is based on technology from Bigcommerce. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Bigcommerce provides a platform used to launch e-commerce sites, handling all of the deals of shopping card, social, email marketing, and more. The companies said Heartland's Online Storefront is aimed at helping merchants to effectively compete with larger players and grow their sales, in less than one hour. Heartland is the fifth largest payment processor in the United States.
