Former Dallas Technology Executive Also On Malaysian Plane

In addition to the 200 employees of Freescale Semiconductor who were on the mysteriously vanished Malaysian plane, a former Texas technology executive--Philip Wood, who worked for IBM--was also on the flight. Wood was one of the 239 people who vanished without a trace Saturday when the Malaysia Airlines flight disappeared from the radar. There are significant links between the Texas high tech industry and Malaysia, which has become a major manufacturing center for semiconductors and other electronic parts. Local companies with operations in Malaysia include Mouser Electronics, Freescale, Texas Instruments, Dell, and others.
